Paula Castro is a Retired NYPD Police Officer with 20 years of service (July 1989-July 2009) as a patrol officer in the 28 Precinct in Harlem. She served as the Coordinator for the 28 precinct’s Law Enforcement Explorer Program from 2005-2009. After retiring from the NYPD, Paula discovered a newfound love for fitness and immersed herself in personal and group fitness training. She began her journey as a Zumba instructor and expanded her expertise into various fitness formats. From 2016-2018, she was the Coordinator of Group Fitness at Union Avenue Community Fitness Gym in New Windsor, NY, where she taught Zumba, Silver Sneakers, Strength Training, and Chair Yoga, in addition to working as a personal trainer. Between 2018-2020, Paula also taught a Power Training class at Anytime Fitness Gym at two locations, Cornwall and Walden, NY. She is a Certified Personal Trainer with the American Council on Exercise (ACE). Her certifications include Zumba: Basic, Toning, Aqua, Step, Gold/Chair, Zumba Gold Toning, Zumba Kids & Kids Jr., Zumba Sentao, and Strong by Zumba. Additionally, she is certified in Les Mills: Body Combat and Silver Sneakers: Classic, Yoga, Boom Move, Circuit, and Stability, alongside Fundamentals of Teaching. Paula also holds additional certifications in Water in Motion and Silver and Fit. Furthermore, she is the founder and CEO of Temple Fitness, LLC, where she continues to promote health and wellness.

Carlos is a Retired NYPD Police Officer with 21 years of service (July 1989-July 2010), including 16 years as a patrol officer in the 28 Precinct in Harlem, both in uniform and plain clothes. Currently, Carlos serves as an active duty Police Officer with the Town of Woodbury Police Department (November 2014-present) and also acts as a Defensive Tactics Instructor for the same department. With a strong background in martial arts that began in 1981 at the age of 14, Carlos trained in Ji Do Kwan Tae Kwon Do under Grandmasters Yeon Hwan Park & Yeon Hee Park. He holds a 1st Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (WTF) under Master Yeon Hwan Park (KukKiWon Headquarters Seoul, South Korea) and a 2nd Dan Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do (WTF) under Master Han S. Maeang (KukKiWon Headquarters Seoul, South Korea). Additionally, he is a Senior Associate Level 8 in Filipino Martial Arts under Tuhon Dan Inosanto and has achieved similar levels in Lee Jun Fan Gung Fu & Jeet Kune Do, Maphilindo Silat, and Madjapahit Martial Arts. Carlos also attained Full Instructor Level 2 in Filipino Kali, Maphilindo Silat, Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do & Muay Thai under Guros Harley Elmore & Chuck Giangreco (Warriors Way International) and is currently no longer affiliated with WWI. He is a Full Instructor Level 1 in Panantukan: Filipino Dirty Boxing under Guro Daniel Sullivan (Warrior Arts Alliance) and an Apprentice Level 5 Instructor in both Filipino Martial Arts and Jun Fan Gung Fu under Guro Daniel Lonero (XTMA - Cross Training Martial Arts). Furthermore, he has achieved Level 6 / Trainer in American Modern Arnis under Datu Tom Bolden (American Modern Arnis Society) and is a Level 6 practitioner in Giron Arnis Escrima/Bahala Na Martial Arts under Grand Master Tony Somera (Bahala Na Martial Arts International). As a student, Carlos is at Intermediate Level 1 in Filipino Martial Arts under Guro Ron Balicki and at Beginner Level 4 in both Maphilindo Silat and Jun Fan Jeet Kune Do under the same instructor. He is certified as a Gracie Survival Tactics (GST) Level 2 Instructor under Ryron & Rener Gracie (Gracie University - Gracie Jiu Jitsu) and has obtained Level 1 Coach certification in KRU Muay Thai under Master Ace Ramirez (KRU Muay Thai Association), though he is no longer affiliated with KRU. Carlos also holds an Advanced Instructor Module 1 (AIM 1) certification from Les Mills International, bringing a wealth of experience to the fitness community, including those seeking to enhance their skills at Temple Fitness.
